Vancouver Summer Mentorship Society

The Vancouver Summer Mentorship Society is a non-profit organization that provides a one week long intensive law program for east side Vancouver and Surrey high school students. The purpose of the Society is to help promote the practise of law to high school students who traditionally do not have exposure to the legal profession.
The Society works in conjunction with the faculty of law at the University of British Columbia, the Vancouver School Board, and the Surrey School District. The programming for the students includes seminars taught by leading practising lawyers and professors of law, mentorship lunch, law firm tours, and a court visit.
Last year was the inaugural year of the program. The following is a link to an article that was published in the Vancouver Courier which provides more information about the program:

This year we plan to increase student participation to 18 students.
We are seeking funding to operate the program and to build a bursary fund. The donations will go towards the mentorship lunch session, insurance, and course materials. We intend to use any excess funds to help build a bursary program for past participants who intend to pursue a legal career. Any financial assistance that you can afford to provide is greatly appreciated.
