Val's Health Expenses

After Val was featured as this month's stillkickin hero (https://stillkickin.co/pages/still-kickin-hero-current-hero), a number of friends and family have asked how they can donate to Val directly. As Val's friend, I set this up so we now we have a place to do just that.

There are still a large number of costs that are difficult to cover, given the cancellation of her long-term disability benefits back in April.

These costs include:   

- Lawyer fees to try to reinstate her long-term disability benefits 
- Specialized medical tests that provide evidence for her case for reinstatement 
- Travel costs to and from New York to see a myalgic encephalomyelitis specialist (there are none in the area that are accepting new patients) 

If her benefits are not re-instated (fingers crossed that this IS NOT the case), this money could provide Val a bit of a buffer to figure out her next course of action. 
 
The appointments and tests are scheduled for September and the hearing about her benefits is in October. Thank you for caring about Val and thank you to those that are also able to donate <3!
