help Vahan get back on his feet

Hi everyone!

We are making this GoFundMe for our father Vahan Hanedanian after his almost 10 month long health journey.

On May 31st 2023 he got rushed to the ER which we later found out he was having a heart attack. The following morning, he got rushed over to Mass General hospital. After being at Mass General for 24 hours we got the call that no family member ever wants to receive - he was in a life or death situation where he needed to be put on the highest form of life support. Unfortunately, being placed on that ECMO is what caused his stroke.

It is truly a miracle that he still alive & he is so determined to keep making progress.

He had been sent to numerous facilities after leaving Mass General and finally returned home last week, the 20th of Feb.

He still requires a ton of rehab and support as his body heals and the deficits from the stroke remain.

He was in the class of 1981 at Umass Amherst, and apart of the Beta Kappa Phi fraternity. Before this life changing event, he enjoyed playing golf with his friends, loves going out to eat (huge foodie), and dreams about returning back to Florida one day!

Unfortunately, because he was self employed all of his life, he has no pension. He has never been the one to ask for help, but right now he needs all of the support he can get. We want him to be able to put his focus on healing right now without the financial burden. The funds will be used on some medical equipment he needs, house repairs that are necessary for safety, and in general to get him back on his feet.
