For our dear employees that we were forced to let go during this difficult time...

Here is a little background of our story:

Two years ago I went on my first solo trip to Nosara Costa Rica in hopes of learning Spanish. I ended up learning so much more. I fell in love with not only Costa Rica but also with the people and the culture. I also met the love of my life! Best of all I took a chance and chased a dream I’ve always had: opening and running my own restaurant. In 9 short months after my first visit, we opened Destiny café and restaurant. Most people would maybe call me crazy but for the first time in my life I was “doing” and not just “talking”. A lot of hard work, tears, long hours and self learning... but most of all, success!

We opened for our second season this past November and have found the best employees we could ever ask for! Unfortunately, due to the circumstances surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, we were left no choice but to let our employees go. There are no tourists and all locals are staying home, which in turn has left us with no customers... our 5 dear employees count on their pay to feed their families and pay their rent. I know that this is out of our control, but I still feel accountable for their loss... we also our left with no income which makes it impossible to pay any other salaries to our employees.
