Gary's fight

On 26th august 2019 we received a phone call to say Gary has had a bad stroke. We met him at the hospital and at that point we didnt know what the outcome was going to be.
After a few days we then could see the damage the stroke had left gary in not being able to speak or comprehend anything and losing full movement and feeling down his right side.
Drs where very reluctant in any progress for gary given the severity of the stroke so it was a tough long 8 weeks in hospital.
However......
We received information about a neurological rehabilitation centre that could possibly help gary called laurels.
To date Gary has been there 14 weeks and is now making brilliant progress thanks to the amazing team laurels have.
Gary is learning to walk again and they are very confident he will eventually be able to do this independently. Gary is also having speech therapy and hopefully one day can speak again.
His progress is truly amazing considering where he was 14 weeks ago and that is all thanks to laurels who are trying to give the best normality of life and of course Gary determination.
As most of you are aware me and jess are getting married on 14th july in cyprus so now we have the small task of getting gary over to Cyprus and walking jess down the isle. This is a very special moment for jess and gary and would mean everything for me and the rest of the family to see gary achieve this goal.
Therefore on the 29th march after 5 years out the ring i will return to boxing, 1 last fight to raise money to accommodate any needs for Gary to get to the wedding and any money not used directly for gary will be going to laurels rehabilitation centre to say a massive thankyou.
