Morrison Park Appeal Fund
Donation protected
Morrison Park is a 5-acre woodland right in the middle of the town of Hood River. It is used and loved by neighbors, residents, an active disc golf community, and wildlife.
The city has has recently decided to re-zone the park to allow a housing development on the site, even though its laws require protection of existing parks. We plan to appeal this decision through the appropriate legal channels. This campaign will help us raise funds to pay the out-of-pocket expenses for the appeal.
While we understand the need to house our growing workforce, the city has alternative non-park properties it could make available for housing developments if it chose to do so. The more crowded our small city gets, the more it needs its parks. They should not be sacrificed just when they are most needed.
Please help us save this beautiful neighborhood sanctuary and gathering place.
