GUILLAIN-BARRE SYNDROME

Dear family and friends of Tania

For those of you who have not had the opportunity to know and for those who already know,

 Tania’s son, Pedro, was diagnosed two months ago with a rare illness called

Guillain–Barré Syndrome. In Guillain-Barré Syndrome, the body's immune system attacks part of

the peripheral nervous system. The syndrome can affect the nerves that control muscle movement, as

well as those that transmit pain, temperature and touch sensations. This can result in muscle weakness

and total paralysis of the body . Pedro is paralyzed and the recovery time for this illness is

unknown. It could take weeks to even months!

For the past two months, Pedro’s work had provided medical insurance coverage allowing for all 

required treatment. But since he is unable to work for an undetermined amount of time, the company

has placed him on a medical leave, which automatically discontinues all medical coverage from their

 insurance. The company has offered us an alternative insurance that is very expensive. His mother,

Tania, is unable to cover these expenses, which is the reason we are doing this GoFundMe campaign. If

there is anyone who would like to please help Pedro continue his therapy treatment,  which is essential

for his recovery, any donation is welcomed. Any amount will be valued and appreciated, no

amount is too small when helping someone in need. Please help Pedro fight for a successful recovery.
