Hello, my name is Darnell S. Collier and I am a survivor of not one, not two, but four strokes. Two were cerebral hemorrhages, which is bleeding within the brain. The other two were ischemic strokes. This is when a blood clot blocks off blood flow to the brain.
My strokes left me unable to walk and talk. The course of the strokes ran from 2008, through 2012. It took me until 2014 to regain only a small percentage of who I was previously . However, in 2015 I not only cared for myself but I became a caregiver of a stroke patient.
After several years of trying different medical modalities of healing, I would like to initiate a symposium. This symposium would be a place where we can share, learn and grow. I would love to be able to share my experiences, and so would other survivors and caretakers.
A Medical Symposium could be a productive outlet for healing, but I need your help. I especially would like the support of those family members who know firsthand about this journey. All donations will be used towards the symposium and to further the work of the American Heart/Stroke Association. A portion of each donation is tax deductible.
