USPS Lost All My Belongings

My name is Stella Yeung, a Massachusetts native, currently attending the University of Southern California.
New to the school, and moving completely across the country on my own, I could not bring all my belongings with me on the plane. I had my family ship a suitcase of all my personal items, expected to arrive two days later. A couple of months, many emails, phone calls, and USPS office visits later -- my package was not to be found.
The contents of the luggage included clothings, shoes, jewelry, and other sentimental objects collected over the years. The price of the bag and its actual contents may be estimated around $2000, but it was priceless to me.
I was told by officials apparently my address did not exist and so my clothes were subsequently sent to Atlanta, Georgia and were "most likely" donated to the homeless.
Barely being able to afford the private institution, even with financial aid, trying to focus on schoolwork, and making new friends -- losing all of my stuff had been the least of my worries. Unable to re-purchase all new necessities on a whim, due to the costs of paying for school, housing, food, and books, I have been wearing the same few outfits everyday for the past few months and living as minimally as possible. All proceeds would go to covering the bare necessities lost in the luggage.
I have heard of many cases about the negligence of the USPS and it seems unfair that many people in my situation have no power against them. The last thing I want to be doing is asking for help, but I am not sure what else to do. Anything would help to recover my belongings, cover my tuition, or aid my future. Even a strongly worded letter to the USPS would be great. Thank you.
