USAAI Lacrosse trip to Scotland

Hello!
My name is Tracy Johnston and I was recently selected to join an elite group of 16 girls from around the country to represent the US and travel with the USA Athletes International lacrosse team to Great Britian and Scotland. We will be departing from the US on May 31st and returning June 9th, 2017. We will be playing games in Leeds (United Kingdom), and Edinburgh (Scotland) and also will have sightseeing opprotunities during the 10 day tour.
I am 21 years old and I have been playing lacrosse since 7th grade. My high school didn't have a girls program but I wanted to play so badly that I joined the guys team. This is where I began to fall in love with the sport. When I graduated high school, I honestly didn't think I'd ever play again because I didn't have women's lacrosse experience. When I got to college however, I couldn't help but at least tryout for the team. I put in the extra work to catch up with my teammates who had alot of experience and ultimately became a starter. Besides playing field lacrosse, I also play box lacrosse in Canada with the Niagara Turtle Islanders. A combination of high work ethic and love for the game has gotten me to where I am today.
While it is a huge honor to have been selected to represent our country, this trip also comes as an excellent opportunity to foster international goodwill and friendship among nations, while also promoting the game of lacrosse. With the exception of the US Olympic program, there are few opportunities for athletes to experience the competition, history and culture of other countries on an international level. That being said, this trip comes with a great expense to be funded by each individual athlete.
In order for me to represent our country at this event, I must raise approximately $5,000.00 to cover the team’s expenses as set forth by the NCAA, NAIA, & NJCAA. The funds contributed will pay for my roundtrip airfare; international airport and hotel taxes; service fees; international hotel accommodations; uniforms; meals; tours; international & USA Lacrosse sanctioning and approvals; as well as the management and coaching staff. This journey may appear to be exceptionally costly, but it’s certain that my experience will outweigh it's cost.
I created this fundraising page in hopes that my extended family and friends will help me raise the money I need to embark on this once in a life time opportunity. Any contribution, big or small that you make is greatly appreciated. In addition it would be tremendously helpful if everyone could help me get my page out there by sharing it as much as they can.
