Urgent Surgery for Riffy: Zeyssig Family Needs Help
Donation protected
Hi community! My name is Kimberly, I am a close friend of the Zeyssig family, and felt compelled to support them as they navigate the bills associated with saving their cat Riffy's (a.k.a. Tiger) life after it was attacked in front of their home by a pit bull on a leash.
Yesterday, August 14th, on Robi and Christea's daughter's 9th birthday, a woman and her daughter were walking their dog by the Zeyssig's property. A neighbor across the way heard commotion and looked out to see Riffy in the jaws of the pit bull. A passerby on a bike stopped to help, but the woman and her daughter sauntered off, only yelling back at the neighbor that the cat attacked their dog. She did not make any attempt to console the cat, nor find the family (who was home) and was gone by the time Robi and Christea got to the front yard.
The attack on Riffy spared him from death, but left him with a fractured tibia, and other injuries. Not to mention the emotional stress for both him, and the family. His leg was hanging to one side and was excruciating to see, we can only imagine how he felt in that moment.
Surgery is going to cost around 6-7k, as quoted by the facility in Ventura, Ca., which is why I wanted to help out Robi and Chistea. If you know them, you know how hard they work for their family. Any support matters. We appreciate your support!
P.s. Riffy is a neighborhood cat. He's also best friends with their bunny as you can see. Everyone loves him. He's never attacked anyone or anything in his life. He's not territorial, if anything he's a beach bum! We do believe this pit bull should have a muzzle on when walking in neighborhoods full of pets and children, and we have filed a report and are looking for this woman to have a collaborative conversation.
