Hello!!!

My name is Saba, and I am 8 years old. I come from a family of refugees, now in its third generation, and I am the youngest granddaughter. My family's journey is marked by displacement and hardship. When my grandfather was just two years old, he, along with his family, was forced to flee, on foot, after the horrific events of the Deir Yassin massacre and subsequent air raids on their city.

Now, over 75 years later, history seems to be repeating itself, but in a more devastating manner. Gaza is currently witnessing a brutal war of extermination, displacement, and unprecedented starvation in modern history. Our own home has been partially damaged by bombings, and the sound of explosions never seems to cease. Countless houses in our neighborhood have been destroyed, and we have lost many relatives, friends, and neighbors.

We are living under a suffocating siege, facing severe shortages of food and medicine. In recent months, I have lost a lot of weight, and attending school has become impossible as it now shelters over 10,000 displaced people. Every day, we fear for our lives amidst the ongoing massacres, including those at Al-Shifa Hospital, Al-Rashid, Al-Kuwait Intersection, and countless others that take place daily.

While my grandfather was fortunate to escape to Gaza without cost. Unfortunately, leaving Gaza now requires a significant amount of money. The estimated cost for evacuation is $5,000 for an adult and half of that for a child. We urgently need $50,000 to evacuate our family of 13 people, including 6 children and 5 women, to Egypt, where we hope to find safety until the conflict subsides, and we are able to return.
