Dear community,

one of our beloved, fierce and close comrades from the climate space is having a family emergency and we are looking to support her and her family!

Many of you know her, and if you’ve attended any climate or feminist conference, you would know she has been behind landmark advances for climate and feminist justice for us all. She has done so much for all of us and now she needs us as a community to come together and support her. As her close friends we are vouching on her behalf and are starting this fundraiser her during this extremely difficult time.

We are unable to share her name openly since the regulations on fundraising in the country she is based in are very restricted.

Our colleagues dad was admitted to the hospital/ICU where he was diagnosed with stage 5 kidney failure. He was born with only one kidney which means that his condition is extremely critical! He needs to start dialysis treatment quickly or receive a kidney transplant in order to survive!

❓What is needed ❓

Health care expenses are very high in the country they are based in, so the family is looking to relocate their father to India to get immediate treatment. Our sister had already used up all the savings she had set aside for a surgery she need herself but unfortunately it’s not enough.

While waiting for the needed funds, her dad unfortunately passed out again and started dialysis treatment in the country. Unfortunately, he had a stroke and huge cloth was discovered in his brain, complicating the situation even further. While I am setting up this fundraiser, he is currently in surgery.
