URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR ROOT CANAL, I AM IN PAIN, NO DENTAL

Hi, this is Rebekah. I want to thank you in advance for helping and to tell you how much it means to my heart and soul and spirit. Greg and I are reaching out (Greg is my husband for those who do not know) for urgent help for dental help. Please read a little bit and forgive my artist and poet's and traumatized and slightly autistic person's mind for having serious PTSD and writer's block as a result, so I can help you connect the dots on what is happening with me and why I need help.

As proud as I am to be a new Canadian, the place that was geographically "easy" to cross over to from Seattle, Vancouver Island (by ferry from Vancouver) is actually the most anti-Indigenous, conformist, socially conservative, elitist, bullying, othering and hateful city I have ever lived in, which has made all of the issues and political violence I went through in the States even harder to heal from as I am grieving an entire country, and it has been hard to be crucified and bullied here for being a mixed Indigenous person who dresses colourfully and flamboyantly. Indigenous people here are treated worse than trash from my experience. It has been hard to see. On the flip side, Canada is so much free-er in so many ways due to its civility in numerous other ways and lack of gun violence and that is why I moved here.

Some of you may or may not know or remember me as an Indigenous Rights Activist from the States for 36 years who walked across the country on the Walk Across American for Mother Earth in 1992 for Leonard Peltier, until my feet bled into the ground, with the American Indian Movement...only to later be silenced, sexually, physically, emotionally assaulted and abused in many forms by mainstreamers in the Democratic Party as a National Bernie Sanders Delegate as a true progressive and I experienced many different forms of violence until we moved to Canada. Greg works two jobs and is about to work a third because I cannot find ANY work despite my extensive education and work experience. We are two good people who have been through too much. It is bad enough that I am bullied here for being colorful and Indigenous, that I do not have a doctor due to the doctor shortage with Type 2 Diabetes and most days it feels like a nightmare. I simply cannot find any work at all. I cry myself to sleep over it. I am looking for any and all jobs and I am not able to find anything. I have gone to every employer in Sooke and Langford. I cannot find anything. We urgently need your help. We do not have dental coverage as that is very common in Canada. My tooth is in severe pain and causing me serious issues and I need your help for it....SO BADLY! Therefore, I am in horrible pain in my tooth (for two months) and it is not getting any better. We saved up to see a specialist and I need a very special, intensive root canal in one of my teeth. It is making me nuts and unable to cope with stress because of the constant throbbing in that tooth. I am at risk for infection and abscess if I do not get the root canal. We are in a very tough position and Greg could not work any harder. I feel helpless. Occasionally, I do food deliveries, but it is not making enough and I have to spend $40 in gas to go from Sooke to Victoria and I have to make more than $40 for it to be worth it and I usually only make $30 or less doing deliveries and the horrible wear and tear on my car. For those who do not know, we both suffer from PTSD and have been through so much and fought to come to Canada. We continue to fight all the way until things get better. I need your help. I need to raise $1800 for it. Please help with whatever you can. I have the specialist read to help me. Please, please help us. We have been through so much and we keep fighting the good fight. But the scary thing when you are struggling through no fault of your own and hard up against it is that one thing can push you over the edge and that is where we are right now. I am in pain and my fibromyalgia does not make it any easier.

Again, spiritually, I have a lot of healing to do and this is only one miniscule part of my healing, but enough to make a HUGE difference, if that makes sense. Sometimes, a small pocket of air in the window can be enough to purify the entire house...and that is the same if you help me. Not only will my tooth feel better, but my heart will start to heal knowing that someone cares.
