Help Diana, Bryant, and the pets be housed while our building is treated for mold
We live in an owner-occupied condo building. On January 25th, after a fire downstairs, Diana noticed that the hallway to our garage was flooding. After speaking with police, fire, and our HOA, it was determined that our downstairs neighbor hadn't enacted the cold weather rule, and as such, without heat, her pipes had leaked/burst. Diana is extremely sensitive to mold (allergy) and suspects that there was a slow leak for many weeks. We've currently been in an Airbnb for more than a week and have paid through Friday, 2/14, in addition to a hotel stay because we didn't have water and a series of mold tests by an inspector. I'm currently out thousands of dollars. The dog and cats are with us while the snakes and frog are still at home. No work has been started on the building as of 2/9. I had mold testing done on 2/7, and the results are estimated to be done on 2/11. My own homeowner's insurance said that because "there's no actual damage to my unit," they won't cover temporary housing. I've been consulting with a lawyer to determine where this money will be coming from, but we're rapidly running out of money and time to not be back in a mold infestation. Anything helps Thank you.
