Urgent Dental Surgery Fund

Hi everyone,

First off, thank you so much for taking the time to read this. My name is Tyler, and some of you may know me from the road or friend passing by— I’ve spent years touring as a backline technician working for musicians and doing what I truly love.

It’s not easy for me to ask for help, but I’ve reached a point where I have no other option. I’m currently facing an overwhelming dental bill that I simply can’t manage on my own, and the situation is becoming urgent. Without insurance, the total cost is $23,517.00. Even with insurance, I’m still looking at $14,618.20 out of pocket — a number far beyond what I can afford right now. If you look at the pictures of the bill look at the payments in right hand column for each visit. Each one of those payments is per visit before I walk out the door.

The issues I’m dealing with aren’t just cosmetic or routine. Due to a genetic condition that causes weak enamel, I’ve developed severe Periodontitis (level 8 out of 10) — a serious gum infection that can lead to tooth loss and is linked to heart and lung disease. I’m also facing multiple root canals, all of which need to be addressed soon before things get worse.

The dental office offers a payment assistance program, but even that is $119/month — a stretch for me with my current finances, especially while between tours. This part is on me and not part of the bill.

I want to be clear: I’ve always taken care of my teeth. I brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste. But this isn’t something brushing alone could’ve prevented, and without insurance, getting regular dental care has always been a struggle.
