Help Rodriguez Family After Small Business Gets Replaced

Help my parents and i stay above water as our 15 year owned family business gets replaced with a big coffee chain brand.

OUR STORY:

My name is Isabell Rodriguez and my parents are Cassandra and Richard Rodriguez. 18 years ago my mom and dad built their coffee shop from the ground up, and established themselves as a vendor in Las Vegas NV. Throughout thoes 15 years my father worked 9 hours 7 am to 4 pm 7 days a week…for 18 years while my mother did all the background worked every single day to keep the shops rent payed and our store stocked. It was an every day, every month, struggle to keep the rents payed and the money flowing, but they always pushed through with a smile and with love because it was their passion.

This singular location they gratefully had generated enough money to give us a roof over our head and food in our mouths. But during the covid pandemic we had our other two vendor locations in local hospitals shut down and opportunities closed. We struggled at this singular location to keep stock when we got slowed down business, the loans we took is all we had to save us. We are still paying them off.

Over a year ago my mothers car accident put us in medical debt, and left my wonderful mother with chronic pain that we still cannot afford treatment for today.

With all that life has thrown at us, the income we got was never enough to save in the background. It was always a constant struggle to stay above the challenges of living.

THE DAY OUR LIVES CHANGED:

Today, July 1st 2024 , we got a call that the Corporate office of our location has decided to partner with Starbucks and due to that partnership they have given us one month to vacate due to our contract.

We are devastated. We have renewed our contract every year for the past 15 and while we knew we could be given one month notice at any time, it was a sudden and shocking discovery that we would be replaced with a starbucks so soon after such a loyal and personal relationship we developed with the place we vendor at.

This was our only source of income that supported our family for so long.

THE ACCIDENT:

My mother was in a rear end car accident over a year ago, she was stopped at a red light when another car hit her car going about 65 m/hr that left her with a muscle tear in each knee and one in her shoulder. These tears have left her in debilitating pain every single day. Only surgery can take her pain away and through everything, we have not been able to afford surgeries for her. This pain leaves her unable to stand or walk for long periods of time without excruciating pain. Because of this shes unable to work a standard 9-5 job without pain and makes it harder for her to obtain a job that doesn’t require long periods of standing and walking. This means automatic steady incomes within the time they both have is going to be challenging and take time. We need more time and help for my mom to get surgery that will get her life back to normal. Its so painful to watch her go through so much pain morning to night, every day.

WHY ISABELL MADE THIS GOFUNDME:

I made this gofundme out of my love for them and my desire to see their struggle stop. Even with the shop for the past 15 years, the income and upkeep of the shop was a lot on two people. I truly believe with all my heart that helping my dads dream come true with owning a mobile coffee cart, their lives will change. they will be able to make more money that could sustain a life with medical care and fullfilled passion after so long of trying .With all that they know now about owning a business, owning their own cart would be much easier than a vendor paying rent. They dont deserve this. Thats why im asking for help.

WHAT WE WILL USE THE MONEY FOR:

Help keep up on our rent/bills for the next two months while we get on our feet after losing our business. We will use it for food, car insurance, and utility bills to keep the house. And also a huge chunk of money on the last of July will go to the last rent of the shop and last few payments of our loan debt from covid times with our business. At least 4,000 will go just to finish pay off shop expenses.

I am hoping to raise enough to support my parents dream of owning their own place. If we can receive enough help, we would use that money to have our own coffee cart/truck and turn it into what made our last place last 15 years - love and dedication in a cup of coffee. We dream of owning land with our own shop to be a place where other struggling small business can gather to gain support locally in Las Vegas.

I am also hoping to raise enough to get my mom the surgery she needs to be pain free for the rest of her life, for now its an every day battle in her life. These surgeries will be expensive to fix three muscle tears in her body.
