Urgent Support for Our Family in Sudan

Donation protected
With so many horrific conflicts going on in the world right now, such as the wars in the Middle East and Ukraine, another tragic crisis is occurring. Unfortunately , it is not getting much media or international attention - the war in Sudan.

The war in Sudan is one that affects our family deeply as my amazing husband, Raouf, is from Sudan and his entire family still lives there. Just yesterday, Raouf's family was forced to flee their home in Wad Madani as Sudan's paramilitary Rapid Support Forces attacked Sudan's army, which had been holding the city since the start of the conflict.

My husband Raouf's mother, father, sister, brother, and sister-in-law were forced to evacuate their home, leaving everything behind, in order to avoid armed conflict in their backyard. Right now, they have a place to stay, but we don't know how long that will last.

We are reaching out to friends and family for any connections or advice to help keep Raouf's family safe. They can't flee the country because they need new passports and, because of the war, there's currently no way to obtain passports in Sudan. Additionally, basic living is extremely difficult because of exorbitantly high food and gas prices (with gas reaching up to $100/gallon). Surviving is our number one goal right now.

If you or anyone you know has connections or ideas on how they can apply for asylum, obtain passports so they can leave the country, or other general safety and war survival tips, please let us know.

Any donation is greatly appreciated. So much and appreciation to all those that support us.

**Update: Grateful for Your Support and Our Safe Refuge in Uganda**

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are beyond grateful for your unwavering support during these challenging times. Our family has safely found refuge in Uganda, and we thank God that our prayers for their safety have been answered.

However, the journey is far from over. Raouf’s brother is currently working on obtaining a work permit, while they and hundreds of thousands of other Sudanese refugees are navigating the complexities of their visa situations. Raouf is doing everything he can to secure visas for his family to come to the U.S., but at the moment, only his parents are eligible.

The situation in Sudan continues to be dire, especially in Medini, where it remains unsafe for them to return. The ongoing conflict between military factions has devastated much of the country, leading to widespread violence, displacement, and uncertainty. Civilians are caught in the crossfire, with homes and communities destroyed, making it impossible for many families, including ours, to go back.

We ask for your continued support and prayers as we work towards reuniting the family and securing a future where they can live in safety and peace.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing by us during this difficult time.

With gratitude,
Melinda, Raouf and Nile
