My name is Nada Bouchta, 35 from Switzerland and I am reaching out with a deeply urgent and heart-wrenching appeal for support for a family who has endured unspeakable suffering as a result of the ongoing genocide in Gaza since October 2023. The family of Randa, a widow, and her five children—Wadea (soon to be 18), Yara (17), Faten (15), Malik (12), and Mohammed (6)—have experienced unimaginable hardship, and their situation demands immediate humanitarian intervention.
Since the outbreak of violence, this family has been torn apart, each member subjected to devastating trauma and uncertainty. Randa’s husband was tragically killed, leaving her to navigate the ongoing crisis alone. Since the beginning of the conflict, the family has been separated with no knowledge of whether the others have survived. Randa, Wadea, and Mohammed have endured ten forced displacements, struggling to survive in ever-changing and perilous conditions. During this time, they have suffered from chronic illness due to forced starvation, and the psychological toll of these experiences is profound. The trauma they’ve faced is not just physical but deeply mental, as they’ve lived in constant fear and uncertainty.
The family’s home has been destroyed, along with everything they once owned. All of their belongings, their means of financial support, and their future were taken from them by the violence that continues to devastate their lives. In addition to this immense loss, the eldest son, Wadea, was forced to abandon his dreams of attending law school, while young Mohammed, at just six years old, has spent these critical years of his childhood living through genocide. The impact of such trauma on his emotional and psychological development is incalculable.
Randa and her children, separated and scattered, face not only the grief of losing their loved ones but also the unbearable uncertainty of whether they will ever be reunited. Their resilience in the face of such unimaginable pain is beyond measure, but they are in dire need of support to rebuild their lives and heal from the trauma they’ve endured.
We are reaching out to you with the hope that you can extend a hand of compassion and help provide emergency humanitarian aid to this family. Your support can help them access basic necessities such as food, shelter, healthcare, and psychological support. It can also give them the opportunity to begin rebuilding their lives, step by step, with dignity and hope for a future that has seemed so distant for so long.
This is a family in urgent need of assistance, and your contribution can make a world of difference. Please help us offer Randa and her children the hope and the resources they need to survive and rebuild in this unimaginable crisis.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We are profoundly grateful for any help you can offer.
