Every now and then, life creates a rare unicorn of a woman. A woman who has spent her entire life keeping kids in the community so us parents could go to work. She is beautiful inside and out, but what makes her stand out above the rest is her willingness to give her full heart to anyone in need no matter the circumstances. Angela has dedicated her life to keeping the kids of First Responder/Police/Fire/Medical parents. We all call her our “GiGi”! Our Gigi would change her schedule for us first responder parents on the shortest notice and was happy to do it for us every single time. She loves all of our kids like her own. Angela loves hard and intense and has been the community caretaker for us for so long.
Well, now it is time to repay the favor. Think back to those big hugs and putting bandaids on countless boo-boos and making infinite snacks! Think of the bonds she has formed with so many of us in the community by helping keeping our kids safe and sound while we are working. Angela and her boyfriend Noel were leaving a local town concert and he somehow lost control of the vehicle. Their vehicle swung into a very large tree and the impact was so great it broke Angela’s neck in three places along with broken arm, shoulder, collarbone, the works. She has already had one spinal cord surgery to try and save her the use of her arms and is facing a second surgery to fuse her spine together. So, please friends and family, and those who will join in her support, this is how we need your help.
Angela can’t afford insurance on herself because she puts her own children’s health and well being first ALWAYS and can only afford her children’s insurance. She has several surgeries in the future and who knows if she will even make it back to work ever. Our Gigi needs imminent assistance with daily expenses such as keeping utilities on for her kids, keeping the house payment paid, having groceries for her kids and back to school supplies.
Longer term, she will need lots of help with day to day care, food, transportation to and from doctors and checkups. Of course, we don’t have all the answers right now, but we will update everyone as we find out more info.
We need your prayers, your love, and your generosity for Angela and Noel. They are the ones that the people in the community will call when we are in a bind or have a flat tire or need emergency child care. Now they need us more than ever. They need to know they are not facing this uphill battle alone.
