Urgent Aid for the Cailleach Family
Spende geschützt
A Proper Introduction
Hi, we are the Cailleach Family. Pronounced (Kaw-lee-awk), there are 5 of us. Starting with our children, youngest to oldest, there's Katherine who's 6, Ian who's 10, and Anya who is 19. Then my wife Treasa, and me, Nathan. For Treasa and me, it has been a journey of almost 20 years together. Treasa is a gifted and well-trained Massage Therapist who has worked in tandem with Chiropractors and other Medical Professionals to solve the healing needs of her clients. Treasa is also a Graphic Artist who makes designs for T-Shirts and Websites. Katherine and Ian are homeschooled by both of us. Katherine, at 6, is working at a Grade 3 level; she loves reading and drawing. Ian is working at a Grade 4 level; he also loves reading and is learning piano. Anya is a student at JCCC (local community college) in the ASL Program. Nathan, me, I'm a Photographer, Filmmaker, and Blogger. Treasa and I trade who has daytime work so there is no issue of childcare to be had.
What Happened, Why We Are Asking For Your Help.
As the holiday season approached, Treasa was working in her day job, essentially managing a loading dock for a resale department store. It was a very busy and labor-intensive environment. She was injured while working and wound up in an incredible amount of pain. Fortunately, she was sent to a work-sanctioned physician and given a steroid treatment, unfortunately, due to complications related to that injury, like chronic pain. Treasa was not able to continue in that position. And, as our family’s sole income earner at that time, this put our family in immediate and urgent financial distress. As for me, I am disabled. I was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease 4 years ago, and I have been on dialysis that entire time. I am working with the Kidney Transplant Team at St. Luke’s Hospital. I have been left with many work restrictions as a result of this. It takes me longer than average to find a day job that will accommodate what I’m physically able to do. Where worlds collided and we need your help is this: about two weeks after Treasa’s job loss and about the same into my job search, I fell in our driveway while salting it. The result was, (according to my Ring Doorbell), I was knocked unconscious for almost 30 minutes. Treasa drove me to the ER, where a CT scan revealed a small subdural hematoma. I was kept overnight in the hospital for observation. All of our bills—mortgage, utilities, and personal loans (like car payment and credit card)—are coming due at once, and neither one of us has income yet. Help.
Conclusion
Because I have the privilege of being a MO Home Educator, my life is full of “Teachable Moments” for my two youngest children… and this would be one of them… asking for help when you need help. My family and I need your help to get through the next month and a half to stay on course, get our bills caught up, and avoid foreclosure. Simple as that… jobs will come, income will flow again, Treasa’s back will heal, my head will heal, and our family will stay together and stay strong.…
