On March 17th, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster announced that all restaurants, bars, and breweries must close their dine-in service in an effort to slow the progression of COVID-19. Although necessary from a public health standpoint, this mandate has deeply impacted the Upstate's restaurant community – especially staff members who rely on hourly wages to pay their bills and care for their families.
The goal of this fund is to support those in the greater Greenville restaurant community who have been financially impacted by COVID-19 closures. This is emergency funding designed to help hourly restaurant staff continue to pay for rent, food, utilities, medical needs, and family care.
This is the time we have to come together as a community to help our fellow neighbors who have cared for us at our favorite local spots. These hard working individuals have enhanced our meals and celebrations with family and friends and aided in many memorable moments in our lives.
Please donate any amount you can to help alleviate the burden they will experience during this time.
Where your funds go: 100% of these funds will go to hourly workers who have lost income due to work closures from the COVID-19 pandemic.
We aim to give every approved applicant $300 when funds become available and on a first come, first served basis.
How to Apply: We have currently closed Round 1 of sign-ups. Once we have successfully raised funds for the 22 applicants that have signed up so far will be opening registration back up.
How Funds will get to Recipients: We will send funds via Venmo or Zelle based on what is indicated in your application. All employment information will be verified before pay-outs occur.
