Medical and funeral costs for Deirdre Copeland

Hello,

as some of you may have heard already, my sister-in-law Deirdre Copeland had a completely random and unexpected reaction to medication for her rheumatoid arthritis on June 10th.

She had seizures, a bunch of strokes and had to be air lifted to Barnes where they performed emergency brain surgery and removed many blood clots but unfortunately couldn’t remove all of them. She is on life support in the ICU and we have been told she will not wake up.

The funds collected will go towards the medical bills and any associated costs of the burden of having a loved one on life support. Deirdre did not have any life insurance and her medical bills will likely be astronomical. Anything left over will go to Wally and his family. Thank you for donations, no matter how big or small, sharing this post and your thoughts and prayers during this completely unexpected and difficult time. Hold your loved ones close - you never know how much time you have left with them!

Update:

If anyone would like to come see Deirdre tomorrow she is at Barnes room 9403. Only two at a time in the room at once. It will be a chance to say goodbye and tell her you love her.

Deirdre will be donating her organs around 2PM on June 13, 2023. Thank you to everyone who has supported her family during this time.

Deirdre passed away at 3:50 St. Louis local time after giving the gift of life to so many people. It is just like her to make the best of a bad situation. She is being cremated. Memorial services will be at Pitchford funeral homes on June 24th. More details will be posted here soon. Thank you all.
