Uncovered medical expenses and more

Hi my name is Angela and I’m writing this on behalf of my daughter Madison Hawkins. On January 8, 2023 she suffered a severe asthma attack. She walked into the ER and immediately went into respiratory cardiac arrest. Providers performed successful CPR for 5 minutes. She was intubated and put in a medically induced coma for approximately 4 days. During that time she suffered several seizures. Upon waking she continued to suffer with non-epileptic seizures which was later identified as Lance-Adams Syndrome. LAS is a neurological complication from the anoxic brain injury. Her body constantly tremors and she has had to learn and is continuing to learn how to walk, talk, feed herself, etc…LAS is a very rare condition with less than 150 cases world wide, providers do not know a great deal about a long term prognosis. She was recently released from inpatient rehabilitation and is starting outpatient rehabilitation. She currently needs 24/7 supervision and assistance with daily activities. She is unable to work and has no income. I have been trying to help her navigate her new situation and reaching out to to find available resources for her. As we all know, everything takes time and unfortunately the expenses don’t wait. Madison is a 22 year old who was previously very independent and even with these new challenges would like to remain as independent as possible. She has struggled with the decision to start this GFM as it is hard for her to be vulnerable and ask for help, so I am asking. We do not know what the future holds for her and we are asking for the communities help. Help to pay for her living expenses. Help with out of pocket medical expenses. Help paying for transportation services to and from therapies, appointments, grocery shopping, etc. But most of all we are asking for prayers and healing!
