Los médicos han iniciado con medidas invasoras como la colocación de una sonda pleural para drenar la sangre y evaluar su evolución. El martes 5 de noviembre Miriam será sometida a una toracotomía, un procedimiento de alto riesgo que conlleva una larga recuperación. Mientras tanto, cada día que pasa es una agonía para Miriam y su familia.

Su esposo y seres queridos han estado a su lado incansablemente, afrontando todos los gastos, pero la situación se ha vuelto insostenible. Miriam no tiene ingresos actualmente, y los costos de posibles tratamientos adicionales son abrumadores.
