Ultra Marathon for The Oliver Buchanan Trust
Hi.
On 22nd June, I, along with a few friends, will be taking on the London Ultra Marathon, a 55k/34m run through south London, starting in Woolwich and finishing in Richmond.
We are running in memory of a very special boy, Oliver, who died from cancer in December 2023. The Oliver Buchanan Trust is being set up to deliver 'Oliver's Pockets of Sunshine' which aims to support children of school age [4-16] in his local area who may be experiencing difficulties at home or at school which are negatively affecting their emotional and mental wellbeing.
These children and their families will be nominated to receive small gifts aligned to their needs. For example, a day out at a theme park, tickets to the cinema, a sports club subscription etc.
Any support you can give, however small, will be so gratefully received by us and those who were close to Ollie, and give us a massive boost to keep running when our legs are hurting.
As Ollie's fund is being finalised, Clare (Ollie's mum) is working with the Mellor March, itself a grant giving organisation, to ringfence any funds raised until such time as they can be used.
Thank you. xx
