Ukrainian Refugees and Dnipro Children's Hospital

Donation protected
Hi, my name is William Grow and this will mark my third personal delivery of Humanitarian aid into Ukraine.

I'm in a rather unique position where my citizenship and bank account location in the US allows me to make use of the "GoFundMe" website, while my temporary geographical location allows me the ability to directly help Ukrainians in need. I'm hoping we can make positive use of this site to assist us in our next run.

Previous trips have sent us to Lviv where we've managed to make multiple deliveries of food, drinking water, and medical supplies, all of which were channeled through Ukraine's established supply lines to those in need at the front. Now, it's looking like the ability for donors in our small Hungarian town is becoming increasingly exhausted. Instead of giving up, we decided to come here for help.

On August 18th, I am scheduled to drive into Ukraine again. This time we'll be heading directly into the heart of things and will be making deliveries to Dnipro's Children's Hospital, as well as to various refugee shelters housing Ukrainian children in Dnipro. And if we're honest, we're beginning to worry that this will become our "bridge too far".

In working the way we have, we have had the pleasure of making more than one Ukrainian that we consider a friend. As you can see, we made a promise to our friends in Dnipro back in May when the planning started for this trip. It's incredibly important to us that we deliver on this promise.

Geographically, Dnipro sits central within the crescent of fighting that surrounds it. That central location makes it a prime location for those fleeing the fighting, but also a lucrative target for Russian terror strikes.

We plan to keep this channel open until August 7th after which we will close the account and use the donated money to purchase medical supplies through a local distributor with whom we've established a wonderful working relationship. School supplies will also be purchased through local vendors, and are generally readily available.

With regards to purchasing power: We plan to split the donations evenly between school and medical supplies. However, if this account grows beyond our expectations, then we will bias our spending towards medical supplies as those tend to be more expensive by a large margin.

*Regardless as to the spending bias with regard to supplies, it's important that we note that no part of your donation will go towards our fuel, vehicle maintenance, compensation for time, or any other admin costs. That is our contribution to this effort, and one that we are proud we are able to donate (at the time of this writing, we have not received a complete response as to our question about the tax implications that will result from this effort).

After previous runs we've posted our trip reports online and you can view those reports at Grassroots Motorsports Forum's website here:

(see pages 6, 12, 20, and 21, for run reports and an idea of the evolution of our efforts)

After this run, I can promise that the same detailed report will be posted on the same site, with no less than the current level (with regards to quality and number) of photos and description.

Thank you for reading this, thank you for all you're doing, and thank you for anything you can contribute. No matter how large or small, we are all doing what we can to make any difference we can make.

And finally: In a world subjected to such horrific violence and destruction, I'll leave you with this diamond in the rough. A singular moment recently captured by a friend from inside a Ukrainian Church:

So here's to the uncrushable spirit of the Ukrainian people. Here's to helping them find the peace they deserve.

Thank you.

(If you're Ukrainian, or are reading this from inside Ukraine, please know: We're here, we're coming, and you have the entire world behind you. Stay strong.)
