UKM: Héritage Créole et Sécurité a NHC 2024

United Kreyol Mas (UKM) a fièrement introduit la vibrante culture des Caraïbes françaises au carnaval de Notting Hill, étant le premier groupe à représenter ce riche héritage au Royaume-Uni.

Notre voyage, nourri par la passion et réalisé sans subvention ni parrainage, a commencé en plein cœur des défis de la crise sanitaire de 2020 et 2021.

Nos débuts dans les rues de Notting Hill en 2022 ont été suivis d'une performance impressionnante en 2023 avec notre thème "Manman dlo", qui nous a valu une louable deuxième place dans la catégorie des petits groupes.

Cette victoire souligne notre importante contribution à la diversité et à l'atmosphère du carnaval.

Pour notre troisième année de participation, nous sommes ravis d'avoir reçu des passes officiels pour le carnaval de Notting Hill, marquant ainsi une étape importante en tant que premier groupe des Caraïbes françaises à être officiellement reconnu lors de cet événement.

Anticipant une augmentation du nombre de participants, nous sommes résolus à doubler le nombre de nos agents de sécurité afin de renforcer la protection de nos carnavaliers. Cet effort a pour but d'assurer que chaque participant puisse profiter des festivités dans un environnement sécurisé, en particulier dans les sections les plus encombrées de l'itinéraire du défilé.

United Kreyol Mas (UKM) has proudly introduced the vibrant culture of the French Caribbean to the Notting Hill Carnival, as the first group ever to represent this rich heritage in the UK.

Our journey, fuelled with passion and missing subsidies or sponsorships, began amidst the challenges of the world public health crisis in 2020 and 2021. Our debut on the road in 2022 was followed by an impressive group performance in 2023 with our 'Manman dlo' theme, securing a commendable 2nd place in the small group category.

This achievement underscores our significant contribution to the carnival's diversity and atmosphere.

Entering our third year, we are thrilled to have received official passes for the Notting Hill Carnival, marking a milestone as the first French Caribbean group to be officially recognised at this event.

Anticipating a surge in paraders’ participation, we are committed to doubling our security guards to enhance safety. This effort will ensure every participant can enjoy the festivities in a secure yet festive environment, especially in the more crowded sections of the parade route.
