A merrier Christmas for some kids!

Will you help us make Christmas a happier, more magical time for approx 75 K-12 students at an alternative public school? These are students who struggle to function in a typical school setting & need some extra support within the School District of Lancaster. We began this tradition two years ago, when my husband first began teaching at this school, & we were able to raise almost $900. That was used to give personalozed gift bags to each of his high school students. Last year, we took it a step further, and raised enough to do one of those bags for every student in the school! Both years, all of their reactions were priceless & overwhelming!! So far this year, the current number of students is 67, but that number can fluctuate based on the needs of students throughout the year, so for now I'm going to estimate we'll need 70 gift bags. Below is a bit more of an explanation:
My husband is a Special Education teacher at an inner city school district, with high-risk students. We know that Christmas time brings some mixed feelings for these kids, because they don't necessarily have a whole lot to look forward to. Some of the students have been told for years that they will not be getting presents at all because they are "bad," when in fact, they're just kids - and not bad people at all. Some students are living in homes with great financial struggles, and some may be in alternative living situations in which they are struggling. One thing they all have in common, however, is that they're kids.... & ALL kids deserve a little Christmas magic! We would love to make Christmas a little more special for this group of kids by surprising them with some gifts. Traditionally, we've given each student a gift bag filled with a few small items such as gloves, scarves &/or hats in their fave color, their favorite candy & snack food, a personalized Christmas ornament, a small bottle of lotion, a coloring book & colored pencils, a gift based on their favorite hobbies, or a gift card for $15-20. We base these gifts off of a survey that we pass out each year. Would you consider helping us to make Christmas a time of joy & surprise for this group of kids!? Who knows - this could be the thing that helps them to know that they are worth so much more than some of them have been lead to believe!
