Help Need a Wheelchair Accessible Van

Donation protected
This is my husband Jeffrey Strong Sr. He is a 48 year old devoted husband, father and grandfather. Prior to his illness, he was a dedicated coach, hard worker and family man. My husband and I have been married almost 24 years. We have two children and two grandchildren.

Jeffrey, has had several strokes since 2018. The strokes have left him weak on his left side and unable to walk. He's recent undergone a toe amputation as well. My husband is completely blind and has Vascular Dementia. Jeffrey is also in Kidney failure and requires dialysis several times a week. He has to be transported by wheelchair accessible van.

I have been my husband's primary caregiver and advocate along with our teenage son over the past 5 ½ years.

At the end of the month, he will lose his Medicaid. This means that transportation to and from all appointments and Home Healthcare Aide will no longer be available to him. We have no way to transport Jeffrey to his required dialysis.

Jeffrey goes an
Approximately 36 minute drive from our home for dialysis. Jeffrey can not go to the dailysis center closest to our home because of his health. It also took Jeffrey months to get used to going to dialysis by himself and to become familiar with the voices of the amazing staff.

Since Jeffrey is unable to walk or stand, he requires transportation that is wheelchair accessible. We do not have a vehicle that allows that, so we have to purchase one ASAP.

Having a wheelchair accessible vehicle will also allow him for Jeffrey to be able to get out the house. He could finally go somewhere other than dialysis.

We are asking for your support to be able to purchase a wheelchair accessible van. If you can, please donate and share. I would be able to keep my husband in the home and get him to his appointments.

However, the only way that is possible is with a wheelchair accessible vehicle. If we are not able to purchase a vehicle for him, I will have to place my husband in a facility. This would be devastating to me, our family not to mention Jeffrey. Going into a nursing home would be an even bigger setback for Jeffrey mentally. My husband is a living miracle. He's still full of life.

Thank you for your support, thoughts and prayers.
