Our lil princess Charlotte

My niece Charlotte, Princess Charlotte as she is fondly known to her family, has been diagnosed with Leukaemia, specifically B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.

Instead of going camping for the long weekend in October, Charlotte was flown to Brisbane by RACQ Care Flight Rescue Helicopter to start induction treatment. 23 days in, she's had a total of 5 rounds of chemo, 2 lumbar punctures, a bone marrow biopsy, 2 x platelet and 2 x blood transfusions and daily medications. Short term - she has a PICC line inserted in her left arm to administer IV medications. Long term - she will have a port-a-cath inserted (probably on day 28).

After the induction treatment, will be the consolidation treatment where they will be increasing her chemo medication. Day 28 results from her bone marrow biopsy will decide which treatment she will be on for the next 6 months in Brisbane. Then after this is completed, more tests to decide the following 2+ years of treatment.

I'm starting this Go Fund Me page to help raise money for my niece and her family. They have had to reduce to one parent working whilst the other is away in Brisbane with Charlotte for her ongoing treatment and have medical and travel bills to go along with the standard everyday bills which are piling up. Charlotte's immune system is suppressed, so she is unable to play with other kids, or even go shopping. Although in pain every single day, when she is in hospital, she still manages to smile at the nurses when they constantly wake her for observations in the middle of the night.
