Our beloved Kathy at the Kneeland Farm Stand needs our help! She had a black spot on her left eye that had been bothering her the past week or so. Luckily, a wonderful Ophthalmologist, Dr Jansson, came into the stand and took a look, urging her to see a doctor right away.  Dr Mastroni at North Coast Ophthalmology diagnosed her with an (almost) detached retina.  Wanting to fly her out that day (Friday, August 17th), Kathy being Kathy, she couldn't bear to leave before Saturdays farmers market and figuring out who would take care of the stand. So we have two days to come up with the expenses she needs to get to the bay, see the surgeon at West Coast Retina, get the surgery at St Mary's in SF, and a week long stay while she does this and recovers.  She will have to stay at least 4 days after the surgery. She sees the Dr on Monday morning at 830 am.  They will determine then when the surgery will be. She'll have to go back for a 1 day post op and will have to wait a couple of days (4-6 depending on severity) before she can ride the elevations home.  She will hopefully be able to see her dr here for her 1 week post op.  The surgery itself is going to run around $6000, plus gas, food & lodging.  Please help us give back to the women who has always so freely given everything she has to our community! She beat cancer, a detached retina wont stop her!!!!
