Hi. It was a difficult decision to reach out to my community, however the matter has become pressing. My name is Emily and many of you may know me as your local picture framer, friend and community member. I am 32 weeks pregnant, and on the brink of taking leave from work in order to care for and welcome my baby into this world. A week ago my beloved car, affectionately called “Pierogi” unexpectedly broke down on the thruway. The damage was greater than I can still fathom and is beyond repair. Monetarily, I have been preparing for our baby girl with medical, hospital bills and temporary unemployment in mind. This abrupt and unfortunate event with my car was not part of the plan, and is proving to be a financial hardship. If you do know me, I'm a workaholic, and I would typically do everything in my power to resolve this on my own in a more private way and work my butt off. However, with the reality of my pregnancy and not being able to work for several months (severing me from a steady full-time income) I could use a little help making ends meet.
