After more than 13 years, my aunt had another chance of seeing her 3 children that were left in El Salvador. I have seen first-hand her enormous struggles to have them by her side, especially because of the dangerous situation going on in El Salvador with the gangs.
Since they arrived to the U.S. they have been paying for their enormous debt, which is more than 30,000. I have seen their daily struggles with knowing how much debt they have and from their concerns about their immigration statuses.
Two of them had to pay almost 15,000 for a bond to get out of ICE custody so they could be with their parents. Since they got out, they have been working their heart out to repay all the money they have spent on immigration bonds, travel, and lawyers. It is almost impossible to obtain all that kind of money in less than two years. The clock is running against them and the time they need to pay back the money is coming soon. Besides that, they are paying their own lawyers to represent them in court to fight their 3 cases and stay in the U.S. They are paying more than 2,000 each month.
I would like to raise 12,000 dollars for my family. The money I want to raise is not even half of what they need, but it will help relieve them from the total amount they owe. Please, even if you don’t donate, share this with as many people as you can. Remember that 5 dollars can make a difference in someone’s life. Thank you a million!
