Nepal; Trauma & Medical help & Aid
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Jamie Grubb, I am a chaplain and the CEO of a non-profit called Compassionate Reach International. (you can learn about us at www.compassionatereach.org )
I and other trained volunteers offer psychological and spiritual support to victims of trauma from natural or man made crisis or disasters.
We are traveling with a medical team to offer backup and psychosocial support to the trauma victims. Trauma support reduces the incidences of PTSD and mental illness after disasters, and greatly helps the medical teams to transition out of the devistation.
As a Chaplain and trained Birth Assistant, my personal focus is in helping pregnant woman, mothers, and children though I offer care to everyone.
We need partial funding to get to Nepal to provide this help, as well as bring medical supplies and other donations wiht us. We will also purchase humanitarian aid needs in country. We are 100% volunteer and support our own work.
I have experience in most major US disasters, as well as international, and have both witnessed the NEED for psychological support to victims and medical teams, as well as having been told over and over again of the difference it has made to have debriefings and compassionate emotional care. One nurse stated, "You were the glue that kept the team together." As a federally approved non-profit, please see the work we did in the Philippines, where we have continued with a disaster recovery feeding program, and HELP US to HELP NEPAL. Thank you for partnering with me to help hurting people process thier grief and face this trajedy with hope.
