Stop the Gas Pipeline Through Pimmit Hills

Please donate now to stop the Pimmit Hills high pressure pipeline! Unless sufficient legal funds are raised for its continued appeal construction will begin in just a few short weeks. The Pimmit Hills Citizens' Association (PHCA) has just learned that the Attorney General's office has filed a motion to dismiss a pending case of opposition submitted by one of our residents.
Background:
You may have already heard that after two previous denials, VDOT granted a permit to Washington Gas to install a 2 ft wide high pressure transmission pipeline through our neighborhood, putting all of us at considerable risk as well as lowering property values.
One of the Pimmit Hills homeowners appealed the permit, and VDOT moved to dismiss the case in early February 2020. The homeowner has already consulted with legal counsel, but needs to retain permanent counsel in the matter to proceed. The estimated cost is $10,000. The next step is to immediately fight the motion to dismiss and move for an injunction. This will delay work in our community while this case is pending in circuit court. Without an injunction, Washington Gas will be able to immediately start laying the pipe as soon as the weather warms, likely next month.
We are urging every household in Pimmit Hills, as well as allies of the cause, to chip in anything they can - big or small - to provide a chance to stop the permit.
Any unused funds will be donated to the Pimmit Hills Citizens' Association for use by the community.
