Hi everyone,
I am speaking on behalf of my mom’s family, who are still trapped in Gaza. I was born in Gaza, but I am now a U.S. citizen living in New Jersey. My entire maternal family, including my grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins are stranded in Gaza with no money and nowhere to go.
When the war began, they were forced onto the streets, unable to bathe for weeks, and struggling just to survive. For the past two years, they have endured unimaginable suffering and devastating losses, including the deaths of many of our family members. Their lives have been completely shattered. In the cover media are my cousins who were killed and there are more that have been killed in our family.
Every day is a catastrophe for them. They are constantly being displaced, never knowing where they’ll go next. Food, water, and medicine are being blocked from entering Gaza, and malnutrition is widespread. My grandparents are elderly and already struggling with health issues. I fear their condition will worsen in these horrific circumstances. My aunts, uncles, and their children are also suffering, as it is nearly impossible to secure food, water, tents, or other basic supplies. Prices are unbearably high, and they simply cannot afford them.
We are kindly asking for your help. Donations will go directly to my family and will provide food, water, medicine, tents, and other basic necessities. Gaza City and Jabalia are being bombarded daily. My mom’s family is from Jabalia, and they have already lost everything their homes, their life savings, and the stability they worked so hard to build for their children and grandchildren. Now they are separated and scattered, many of them unable to see each other for months because of the danger everywhere.
My family deserves a normal life. My cousins should be in school like any other children in the world not trapped in what has become an open-air prison. They are slowly dying as borders remain sealed and nothing is allowed in or out. People are even being killed while waiting in line for food aid. My family should not have to risk death just to survive. They deserve shelter, safety, and dignity after all the trauma they’ve endured.
The healthcare system in Gaza has collapsed. With hospitals destroyed, diseases are spreading rapidly. Living in tents alongside animals, my family is exposed to unsanitary conditions, sickness, and constant fear. They were forced to move from Jabalia refugee camp to Rafah, where they now live in tents without food, clean water, or security.
We would not be asking for help if it weren’t truly a matter of life and death. Their situation is urgent: they face hunger, dehydration, disease, and the constant threat of violence. It breaks my heart to live in comfort here while my family suffers this nightmare, and the worst part is the uncertainty I never know if they are alive when I try to reach them.
Please consider donating to help my family survive this humanitarian crisis. Every contribution makes a difference.
Thank you for your support and compassion.
