A Study Abroad Journey in Ireland

For those of you that know me, asking for money is difficult unless it is for a good cause. I have recently been feeling a tug from God to go and study abroad in Ireland this upcoming January (2016). I am very close to graduating and it has always been a dream of mine to study abroad while in college. Unfortunately, I have never had the time or a trip that would be credited towards my major. God sure works in incredible ways. I need to fulfill one more requirement in order to have all my major electives completed. All of the classes offered at Bethel University are not exactly up my ally, except one. The course is called “Conflict, Reconciliation, and the Church.” It is a month studying abroad in Ireland and focusing on the history of Ireland as well as the influence of the church on the people. This trip would not only fulfill my remaining major elective credits, but it would also give me the opportunity to broaden my perspective of Christianity and the Church. There just happens to be one set back, the money. Many of you know that I have been blessed when it comes to paying for the heavy bill of attending Bethel University through a scholarship that covers all costs after my federal, state, and school financial aid goes through. Unfortunately, the scholarship does not cover interim study abroad trips. If you looked at the brochure that I linked above, you may have seen the estimated cost of the trip to be $2,949. This cost includes round-trip airfare from MSP, intra-country transportation, course-related excursions, room, board, and iNext travel insurance. My priority of raising money would be to cover the estimated course cost. I have set the goal higher to cover the costs of getting a passport, application deposit, as well as personal expenses while in Ireland. My hope is that you can be a part of my journey to Ireland. First and foremost, I ask that you pray for me. I ask that you pray for protection and for God to provide the necessary funding for my trip. I also ask that if you feel led to help, please do, I appreciate your thoughts as well as any other contribution you may have. Lastly, I just want to say THANK YOU! Every little bit helps and I truly appreciate your help!
