Two of a Kind - Short Film

Two of a Kind is a romantic short film about two eccentric and awkward young people embarking on a peculiar romance after meeting at a disastrous open mic night.

Our story

The film follows our protagonists, Ziggy and Goose, as their relationship blossoms over a series of strange dates and moments. They explore the intricacies of each other's personalities and discover how they fit together, whilst simultaneously trying to stay true to themselves and their passions. Although the couple’s journey may be weird and unique, we want to use it as an exaggerated analogy to explore the complexities of real-life relationships and the growing pains as you get to know someone special for the first time. The story will focus on portraying the uniqueness of love, the personal intimacy of communication and how being authentic to yourself is key to contentment. We want the film to be a lighthearted character piece, engaging with the different ways these individuals view the world as well as their expectations of themselves and their experiences.

Since it’s our final year at university, we want to be ambitious with our film regarding the stylisation and its world building. The aim is to make the physical spaces of the film exaggerated, bright and dreamlike (like the films Moonrise Kingdom and Amélie). To create this surrealist world, we will be focusing on set dressing, costumes and locations, which is where you come in!

Why we need your help

Being starving student artists is expensive, and we need your help to bring our creative vision to life! The money you donate will be greatly appreciated and will go towards these areas within the film-making process:

Ensuring actors are paid for their work.

Food for the cast and crew on long shoot days.

Costumes and props.

Set dressings to transform our locations into the world of our film.

And film festivals.
