I am permanently disabled and can't work anymore due to a hit-and-run accident in June, 2018. My employer terminated me after 1 year of not being able to return to work. I had a spine stimulator installed for the severe pain from having 4 herniated discs.

In 2021, I contracted Delta Covid-19. I was ventilated and put into a coma after coding dead twice. I have had to learn to walk, talk, chew, and swallow again. I lost 36 pounds and all of my muscle mass while in a coma. I have organ damage, loss of some vision in both eyes, and brain fog. While I was in a coma, I was not rotated in bed once. This is a crucial step the nurses failed to do. I now have a large pressure ulcer in the middle of my left buttock. It has never healed completely, and I have nerve damage there. I can't sit on it for more than 15 minutes at a time. I have to keep readjusting when sitting and sleeping. I could not sue the hospital for malpractice as the Governor of my state put a clause in effect during Covid-19 to protect doctors, nurses, and hospitals from malpractice lawsuits due to Covid-19 being so new and they really didn’t know what they were dealing with. So now I am dealing with the after effects of these two traumatic life-changing events.

My spouse has been working doing a delivery job with our only vehicle to help us afford to survive, paying our bills and our mortgage. With the vehicle in the condition it is in, my spouse is having trouble doing her job. The vehicle is stalling and constantly misfiring. We have spent over $1,000 to have the vehicle diagnosed by the dealer and replaced $700 in parts so far. We are not going to be able to pay our mortgage on our home in November and going forward if our vehicle does not get fixed as soon as possible, so my spouse can continue to work. We do not have any family or friends able to help us financially with this situation.
