From 2016-2018, we -- Randy and Katie Ubry-Terrell -- lived at Sonshine Hacienda, a children's home in San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico. During that time we fell in love with the 40+ children who Sonshine Hacienda served, whether for one night or for the foreseeable future.
After we had been living there for almost a year, one little boy asked: Tu puedes adoptarme? Can you adopt me? As the seasons passed, the question became a statement: Tu puedes adoptarme. You can adopt me.
In the months since we left Mexico, we have purchased a home in the United States, in Ohio, and are adding bedrooms. Because that little boy was right -- we can adopt him, and his two little brothers. But not without your help!
We are putting all of our savings into our home remodel and adopting the boys. Once we are further along in the process we can apply for grants. (If you know of any granting agencies that help with international adoption, please let us know!) But the initial stages of documentation and processing will cost us $17,500. Any amount that you feel led to donate will be a great help!
We also invite you to pray with us through this journey. We don't know what lies ahead, but we pray that God is preparing the way, that paperwork will be signed in a timely manner, that adoption between the U.S. and Mexico will remain open, and that our boys will feel God's love and comfort during the many changes in their future.
