TSMMA Rego Park for Puerto Rico
Tax deductible
Puerto Rico was devastated by Hurricane Maria and, as is well known, the support provided by the Federal Government has not been enough to advance the recovery efforts at an acceptable pace. To date, aside from the fact that about 80% of the island remains without electricity and about 40% lacks potable water, there are still communities in the center mountains of the island that have not been accessed due to debris and the failure of the communications network throughout the island. What is less well known is that there are small community groups lead by conscientious citizens and supported by people from the continental US like you and me who are making a difference for these communities. Because these groups are smaller, they have been able to cut through the red tape and reach some of these communities to provide supplies and water. The Instituto Nueva Escuela (INE) is a non-profit community group focusing their efforts in this endeavor who is currently making a difference for these nearly forgotten communities.
TSMMA Rego Park, with your support, is pledging every dollar that is collected on this site to support INE’s efforts.
