My Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Hi my name is Micah and I was diagnosed with colon cancer at the age of 25. Although the past four months have been really hard, I haven't given up hope because my faith in God goes for miles and I know with him, anything is possible.

Let's start where it all began, on December 28th around 10:00 PM, I started having cramps and it got worse throughout the night. After a long night, my dad brought me to the E.R. After running several test, there were a couple of nurses that came to see me. They pulled me aside and said, "we found a tumor in your colon and you might have colon cancer. We're going to admit you tonight so we can run more tests and do surgery."

When the doctors told my parents the news, the look on their faces said so much.  All I could see was worry and fear and that's when it hit me... this was real. We had to do something and it needed to be fast!

I immediately went in for surgery and a month after surgery I started chemotherapy. I was on my third cycle of chemo when I was rushed back to the E.R. and told that my "intensine was twisted with a tumor inside of it." My family and I were hoping for a second surgery but the doctors had already decided to put me on palliative care.

My family and I have decided to move forward with Naturopathy Health Services (natural treatments) which we wanted to do in the beginning. Unfortunately, it's not covered by our health care system. I started doing treatments this week (3/29) with a private clinic, "Pyatt Health Centre" - http://www.pyatthealth.com and so far things seem to be going good. The treatments are Hypethermia Therapy with an IV.

The treatments are $450 a session and the doctor recommends that I do 3 sessions a week so I sincerely ask for your donations to help us fund the treatments.  Any monetary value is highly appreciated. Although it hurts to have to ask, I just want to be able to have more time with my finacee, family and friends! For the people who can't donate, a prayer means just as much!

In the event of my passing, the remainder of the money will be donated to "Young Adult Cancer Canada"  http://www.youngadultcancer.ca

Thank you all so much!

Sincerely,
Micah
