Warrior Camp® Saves Lives
Tax deductible
Today, more active military are dying by their own hand than from the hostile actions of our enemies. This is fact. Veterans are taking their own lives at a staggering rate of 22 per day. This must END NOW.
Trauma and Resiliency Resources' Warrior Camp® is a groundbreaking program - 7 days of intensive clinical treatment designed specifically for active duty warriors and veterans experiencing combat and service-related trauma: PTSD, Moral Injury, and Military Sexual Trauma. The program's goal is to enhance resilience, support force preservation, and help warriors transition from the battlefield to the community.
Healing trauma as we do at Warrior Camp is, at it's very heart, suicide prevention. We work with active military as well as all combat veterans in order to intervene early with those deemed most at risk. We have a 100% survival rate - zero suicides post-program.
TRR has conducted 9 Warrior Camp® (WC) programs to date. Clinical data using validated assessment tools has been collected and shows statistically significant and substantive improvement in PTSD, depression, adult attachment, dissociation and moral injury. This data has been submitted to the APA Journal of Military Psychology for peer review.
The program utilizes evidence-based therapeutic methods:
*EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
*Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAGALA-model)
*Trauma-sensitive Yoga
*Narrative Writing
Ultimately, the program provides a platform for warriors to explore their present and past experiences with licensed professionals who are able to listen without judgment, bear witness, and ultimately shoulder some of the guilt and blame so that the warrior does not need to carry it alone.
Quotes from our participants:
"I owe my life to Warrior Camp."
" Our nations' veterans deserve nothing but the best and this program is the best I have seen as a veteran and a Chaplain."
TRR Background:
Founded in 2004, Trauma and Resiliency Resources Inc. (TRR) is dedicated to helping those who have been to war truly come home. TRR* was born out of its Founder's work with uniformed and non-uniformed New York City First Responders in the aftermath of the events of September 11, 2001.
501(c)(3) public charity status was awarded in 2006. TRR's first website was designed by a retired firefighter so that trauma-related resources could be made available to members of FDNY, NYPD and PAPD (Port Authority Police Department of New York/New Jersey) and their families.
With the onset of the Iraq War, these resources were expanded to military personnel – active duty and veterans, and all their families. Because we have no paid staff, (yet) more than 90% of all donations go directly to TRR. The remaining 10% pays for operational costs such as website hosting/ maintenance, grant writing/program development, and fundraising.
Warriors and First Responders put their lives on the line every day in service to their country, whether on the home front or in a combat zone. They do this willingly. They do not expect to be forever damaged in the process, yet, this often occurs, and now it is our turn to serve them.
We are asking for your support to cover the cost of several immediate projects:
1) $79,000 downpayment to secure the farm that will be a permanent home for TRR so that we can run Warrior Camp® full time - and expand programming to first responders and family members.
2) $5,000 will pay for our 2017 Advertisements in USA TODAY Veterans Affairs Special Edition and USA TODAY DoD Special Edition. This is our 5th year running ads and many warriors find us through this platform.

3) $600 to pay for the updating of our Warrior Camp® video
Donations:
All donations of $50 and above will receive a Warrior Camp t-shirt or baseball cap.
Donations of $100 and above will receive an autographed book (see perks) and a WC t-shirt or baseball cap.
Donations of $600 will receive above perks plus Porcelain Collector's Plate, "FDNY Honor Guard." Rare, hand-autographed on back by Gary Marlon Suson, Official Ground Zero Photographer.

A Donation of $1,000 will receive "Requiem, Images of Ground Zero", a rare, one of a kind, personalized book with handwritten notes by Gary Marlon Suson and a t-shirt or baseball cap, as well as your name and acknowledgement in the movie credits.

A Donation of $1,250 will receive all perks at the $1,000 level, as well as autographed 5x7 inserts.

A Donation of $5,000 will receive this stunning 60x48 " painting by Aspen, CO artist Lorraine Davis, entitled "Triumph." [email redacted]

*Donations at ANY level will be appreciated. You will receive an official thank you letter from TRR, and the knowledge that you have contributed to saving a warrior's life.
