As most people know, Tulsa Mayor GT Bynum has issued an executive order closing down dine-in services for bars and restaurants across the whole city. Restaurants have famously thin margins, and while I can work out rent and utility freezes, my staff is left out to dry. I employ 20 people at this restaurant, including single mothers, expecting mothers, and people who came to work for me due to layoffs at their normal jobs. I never thought I'd be on this end of the GoFundMe platform, but here I am. I am raising funds so my employees can keep their kids clothed and fed, keep a roof over their heads, and allow them to be home with their now-out-of-school children. These people rely on me, and I personally will be donating a couple thousand dollars to my employees from my checking account, but I'm pleading for a small amount of help to shoulder the load. I have tried to get creative with curbside and delivery but that eliminates 90% of the earnings for my front-of-house staff, and there isn't enough food to warrant scheduling much of the back of house. This needs to be said, NONE OF THIS MONEY WILL GO TO THE OWNERS, RENT, UTILITIES, etc... this is not a bailout for the business owners, this is relief for people that don't know when they will be allowed to make money again.
