Mount Kilimanjaro Charity Trek 2016
One day my team members and I went for a hike and we were talking about everything that was going on in the world. Along our path we began to notice many of the social injustices that plague our global society. Why don’t people have access to clean water? Is there a way for everyone to receive proper education regarding the importance of public health? Why are so many people starving? How do we get medicine to those who need it? What can we do to make it better? Our walk turned into a quest for knowledge to the answers that conflicted us. We went from trying to solve humanities most notable social issues from the comfort of our front porch, to preparing for a once in a lifetime journey that had the potential to leave a significant footprint in the matter at hand. It had turned into a search for humanities redemption, the reclamation of our compassion and empathy for one another. It became a Trek to Truth.
In 2016, for our first philanthropic initiative, Trek To Truth is looking to climb Mount Kilimanjaro while raising funds and awareness of the charitable efforts of the Keep a Child Alive and charity: water non profit organizations.
Trek To Truth is seeking donations and support as we climb towards the solutions to our most pressing societal issues.
The intial cost of essential hiking gear, airfare to Moshi, Tanzania, and the trek up Mount Kilimanjaro, roughly esimates to $6-7K per climber.
Our combined effort would not only be an amazing life changing experience for all parties involved, it would also be an excellent way to raise the awareness of our cause in hoping to provide a better existence for humankind.
