Transportation for the Muncey family
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Ian Muncey. My wife and I just welcomed our second born to the world and we couldn't be more excited for the future. Recently I just received a promotion at work so life was/is heading in the right direction.
After fighting over paternal benefits with my company (my wife had complications from her c-section) I was denied primary caregiver even while having medical documentation stating that our newborn and my wife needed my care for 6 weeks. Even with all of that, I was pretty confident in my abilities to provide for my family as long as I could make it to work consistently which has never been an issue until today, Thanksgiving 2020.
On our way to the usual family deal, our reliable pontiac g6 (which I have performed usual maintenance and general upkeep) decided to more or less die, making it a dangerous ride for 1, let alone for a family of 4.
I have never been one to ask or beg for help from friends and family, let alone complete strangers so this puts me in an odd position. I am very grateful for those who have helped and would gladly appreciate any help that can be offered.
I am the only person keeping my household afloat and without reliable transportation our prospects are pretty grim.
I wouldn't post this or share it without feeling like it's my last resort.
If I was able to meet the goal, I would either repair the suspension and other issues in our car, or purchase a used vehicle to last until tax season.
I will gladly update and post about what the status of everything is.
If the community I resided in provided public transportation, I wouldn't ask for any help.
To close, I am the sole provider for my family and will be unable to provide if I can't manage to get some type of vehicle road worthy. I recently repaired the rear coil springs, control arms, shocks, and miscellaneous other suspension parts, but now the car is increasingly dangerous.
Sorry for asking, I don't know what else to do.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Ian Muncey
