Transform Lives: Donate to Project Alambana

We invite you to join us in changing lives through Project Alambana, a transformative initiative by Developing Indigenous Resources (DIR). This is your chance to directly impact the future of children who have long been hidden from the mainstream, offering them hope, dignity, and opportunity.

Since its launch in 2022, Project Alambana has focused on uplifting the children of ragpickers in Janta Colony - A large slum on the outskirts of Chandigarh, India, with a special emphasis on empowering young girls. These children face unimaginable hardships, yet each day, they step through the doors of our center with resilience and hope.

At DIR, their day begins with something most of us take for granted: a warm bath and a nutritious, protein-rich breakfast. These simple acts of care not only nourish their bodies but also prepare them for a day of discovery and growth.

At SWAD – School With A Difference, we build from the ground up, helping these children learn the basics, regain their confidence, and dream of brighter futures. Our ultimate mission is to help them transition to mainstream schools, giving them the tools to break free from the cycle of poverty. And it’s working! Just recently, nine of our students, aged 8 and above, were successfully admitted into local schools – a remarkable milestone that reflects the power of this initiative.

But this incredible progress can only continue with your help. It costs just $16 per month—or $256 a year—to provide a child with education, nutritious meals, clothing, and shoes. Today, 16 children are relying on Project Alambana, and we need to raise $3,072 to sustain the program for the next year.
