We are making a short film to bring awareness to the issue of Human Trafficking.
Human Trafficking has become a major problem in the U.S. and Internationally. The average victim's age is 11 to 14. Approx 80% are women and children who are bought, sold and imprisoned in the underground sex service industry. The average life span of a victim is 3 to 7 years. Children are often targeted by traffickers as they are deemed easier to manipulate than adults.
While working on pre-production for our film, we learned that the number of children trafficked in the United States is higher than 300,000. While most people think that victims are runaways or drug addicts, over 50% of children trafficked came from good homes and upbringing. One such victim was taken standing in her driveway.
The funds collected through this campaign will be utilized for film production and cover pre- and post- production (editing, sound,filming) , crew, cast, locations, marketing, permits and festival fees.
We will allocate profits from the production of our towards charities and organizations that help victims and create awareness of Human Trafficking throughout the world.
