Yesterday, my close friend Mallory Floreno experienced the unimaginable. Her apartment, which she shared with her partner Alex, and two cats was destroyed in a sudden fire. Thankfully, everyone made it out safely, but the damage was severe, and almost everything they owned was lost.
The apartment complex has offered very little support. Mallory lost nearly all of her belongings like textbooks, clothing, her bed, kitchen supplies, and countless personal items that made her home feel like home.
Mallory is an incredibly active and compassionate member of the Special Education and Communication Sciences & Disorders departments at Eastern Michigan University’s College of Education. She’s also a dedicated member of EMU NSSLHA (National Student Speech Language Hearing Association), where she gives her time and energy to volunteer by helping others every day.
Now, it’s our turn to help Mallory. Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward helping her and her partner rebuild their lives, replace essential items, and find stability after this devastating loss.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page to help spread the word. Every bit of support makes a difference.
Thank you for helping!
